Abeda Mannan Foundation ( AMF)

Basic Information

Abeda Mannan Foundation (AMF) is a nonprofit, nonpolitical, research oriented welfare lead development organization with special focus of voluntary services for the under privileged group of the society. Bangladesh is a developing country. But the socio-economic development trend and practices is not up-to the mark and adequate in comparison with other developing countries. Rather addressing huge number of people’s socio-economic development interests, huge number of capital concentrated to few peoples that serving minority interests. This capital flow making few rich people more rich and the low earning middle class and the poor are moving very close to the absolute poverty level. Some initiative of uplifting the poor are observed in a scattered way by the government and non-government agencies but that is not significant in number which can contribute for the whole in a planned structure.
This vicious circle making people unemployed among the poor and the middle class is also one of the victims of it. Increase rate of population accelerate this crisis in both rural and urban areas rather consider that as a big resources. Common practice of this unskilled community is to avail credit support from different government and non-government sources and making them liable for using that capital in unproductive sector. That liabilities turns into a burden not for the individual but the whole family, community and society is suffering for that. Investing of credited amount in unproductive sector helping the individual and community to be psychologically, socially and economically disable for long run. This turning point helped Abeda Mannan Foundation (AMF) to realize the common crisis of the poverty prone group. AMF feels human resources as cumulative productive force rather considering it as burden. With a vision of making this unemployed community as potential skill human resources, Abeda Mannan Foundation (AMF) started its journey on 24 July of 2005 as a voluntary non profit social service organization by exploring the motto “People we care”. AMF believes that this huge number of human force is not burden but a small initiative can turned them into skill.
